An Uncommon Legacy Foundation, Inc. is a
nonprofit foundation dedicated to enhancing the visibility,
strength and vitality of the lesbian community. Legacy invests in
our future by awarding scholarships to out students with
leadership potential, and by awarding grants to fund projects and
organizations that contribute to our community's health, education
and culture. Legacy is building an endowment to ensure permanent
financial support for lesbians. Legacy promotes philanthropy among
women and demonstrates the growing power of lesbian giving. For more information,

Albuquerque Lesbian and Gay Chamber of Commerce Scholarships
Eligibility Requirements: gay
or lesbian undergraduate at University of New Mexico or the
Technical Vocation Institute of Albuquerque, and state resident of
New Mexico for one year or more.
Criteria: financial need,
academic standing, history of community service.
Scholarships available: Six
$1,000 scholarships awarded annually.
Deadline: May 15th.

Asian/Pacific Gays & Friends Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements: Male
Asian/Pacific Islander with current history of community work in
Southern California (counties include Los Angeles, Orange,
Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura).
Scholarships available: $1,000

The Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund was
established in 1987 by her children, Woody Johnson a.k.a. Lady
Elaine Peacock and Misty Waters. The Scholarship is administered
by Peacock Productions Inc. and is available to the gay, lesbian,
bisexual and transgender community and/or the children of gay,
lesbian, bisexual or transgender persons who reside in Oregon or
Southwest Washington. Applicants must be pursuing their education
through the post-secondary level and require financial assistance
to that end. This scholarship fund is intended solely for
under-graduate students. Students pursuing education higher than a
bachelor's degree will not be eligible for awards from this fund.
Donations and Sponsorships are the primary funding for the
scholarship.
METHOD OF SELECTION
Advisory committee members of the Audria M. Edwards Scholarship
Fund will review the application of each candidate. Personal
interviews will be required for application finalists. The
recipients of the Scholarship will be chosen upon completion of
the interviews based upon:
1) Apparent financial need,
2) Ability to meet the eligibility guidelines, and
3) Clarity of educational objectives.
