ELIGIBILITY: Full-time student in good academic
standing with a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale;
recipient must demonstrate outstanding commitment to and support
for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered students at The
University of Alabama; recipient may be an undergraduate or
graduate

Investigate several scholarship
funds for GLBT students that relate to the Equity Foundation's
mission. Provides a description of each award.
Among the scholarships are:
 | The Pride of the Rose Scholarship Fund,
which provides financial assistance for post-secondary
education to members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and
transgendered communities and their children residing in the
Portland tri-county or Clark Country, Washington area. The
deadline for 2000 applications has been extended to August
11th. |
| The Bill and Ann Shepherd Legal
Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to
third-year law students dedicated to keeping Oregon a
hate-free state. The deadline for applications is June 10. |
| The Jay Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund,
which provides financial assistance for post-secondary
education to members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and
transgendered communities and their families who plan to
pursue a career in journalism. |
