The Organizing and Advocacy Fund of the Third
Wave Foundation financially supports work, organizing and activism
that exists to challenge sexism, racism, homophobia, economic
injustice and other forms of oppression including projects that
complement our other focus areas -- reproductive rights and
scholarships. We provide grants for specific projects and for
general operating support.
In all of our funding areas, Third Wave
Foundation accepts proposals for projects which benefit, target,
and are devised and led by women between the ages of 15 and 30,
with an emphasis on low-income women, differently abled women,
women of color, and lesbian and bisexual women.
 | We accept proposals from across the country
but do not fund internationally.
 | We rarely support projects with a budget
exceeding $500,000.
 | We accept only one grant proposal from an
organization per year.
 | Proposals received after deadlines will be
held until the next grant cycle.
 | Our grants range in amount from $100 to
$5000. We encourage previous grant recipients to apply again
for grants, because we recognize the difficulty in sustaining
funding and the importance of developing relationships between
grantmakers and organizations. |

Third Wave Foundation's Scholarship Program for
Young Women is available to all full-time or part-time students
age 30 and under who are enrolled in, or have been accepted to, an
accredited university, college or community college. The primary
criterion for funding is financial need. Students should also be
involved as activists, artists, or cultural workers working on
issues such as racism, homophobia, sexism, or other forms of
inequality.
The amount of each scholarship is decided after
careful review of the student's financial aid report. The number
of scholarships awarded depends on the amount of each award.
Scholarships range in amount from $1,000 to $5,000 each, and we
award scholarships in two cycles: fall and spring.
