a Sydney gaze, the making of gay liberation brings together 37 of Craig Johnston’s writings on social and political issues involving gay men and lesbians.

"Craig Johnston has been (and is) one of this country's most important gay activists ... it is his contribution to the theory and practice of gay politics, represented here by thirty-seven articles written over twenty-five years, that makes this book essential reading for anyone interested in gay activism. Or indeed, in Australian society." -- Graham Willett, Arena Magazine, August 1999
