sense of community in a comfortable and secure atmosphere and attend to
the social, emotional, and political needs of the homosexual, bisexual,
and transgendered population. The Network also seeks to provide such

The mission of Purdue Equality Alliance is to actively
advocate equality, raise awareness and foster an accepting and diverse
community for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders. PEA expects
Purdue University to embrace higher standards of decency, equality and
justice than the rest of society. Purdue's students, faculty and staff
have been blessed with the gift of thinking critically, and we should all
be able to recognize when a group is being systematically mistreated. We
expect Purdue also to have the courage to lead rather than follow.
Past accomplishments include running a successful campaign to include sexual
orientation in Purdue's nondiscrimination policy, bringing nationally
known speakers to Purdue, and establishing a scholarship that recognizes
the contributions individuals make in their personal lives towards making
our community more accepting for GLBT people.
The ALLY Association is a group of students, faculty,
and staff who support the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender
community at Purdue University. ALLY is intended as a resource for both
the G/L/B/T community and to the individuals identified as part of ALLY
for referral and information purposes.
