Founded in 1972, the Princeton Pride Alliance has a rich
history. As written in our constitution, the purpose of the Alliance is to:
-represent the interests of the lesbian, gay,
bisexual, transgender and questioning members of the community at Princeton
University in all matters which affect and are relevant to it.
-provide an accepting and comforting social environment for all lesbian,
gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning and allied members of the
University community, be they self-identified as such or not.
-provide support to individual members in their dealings with their own
sexual orientation or in coping with the reactions of other persons toward
their sexual orientation.
-be active in campus politics in order to promote the
cause of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning members of the
University community.
-be open toward non-members of the Pride Alliance and provide
information and encourage dialogue regarding sexual orientation issues.

Over time, the Rutgers Homophile League has evolved
into what is now the Bisexual, Gay and Lesbian Alliance of Rutgers
University (BiGLARU). Now, over three decades later, we still
continue to serve the LGBT community as the second-oldest LGBT
college organization in the United States.
