New York University -- The Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality

Founded in the fall of 1999, the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality (CSGS) is both an undergraduate academic program and a research institute at NYU. We are unique nationwide in our dual emphasis on both gender and sexuality.

We foster explorations of gender and sexuality in a broad range of contexts in the humanities, social sciences, sciences, and professions. Through coursework, research, and public programming, we facilitate conversations within the NYU community, and bring the NYU community into meaningful interaction with sites outside the university dedicated to gender and sexuality issues.

Our programs are intended to promote scholarship, to strengthen the campus community of teachers and students of these subjects, and to encourage activism at NYU and beyond.

Please let us know about your work and interests and how we can collaborate to forge deeper and broader understandings of gender and sexuality.
