Gay and Lesbian Educators of British Columbia

The primary focus of GALE BC is to advocate for change in the educational system which will result in a positive environment for lesbians, gays and bisexuals in education, whether they are students, parents, teachers, or administrators.

GALE BC also offers support to members through regular meetings, social events and monthly newsletter.

There is a pressing need for lesbians, gays and bisexuals in education to be able to support one another in the face of homophobia and intolerance within the educational system and society in general. 

British Columbia Persons with AIDS Society -- BCPWA

The Persons with AIDS Society of British Columbia exists to enable persons living with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome and Human Immunodeficiency Virus to empower themselves through mutual support and collective action. "From our personal struggles and challenges come our courage and strength."

British Columbia Civil Liberties Association

The B.C. Civil Liberties Association (BCCLA) is the oldest and most active civil liberties group in Canada. We are a group of citizens who volunteer our energy and talents to fulfill our mandate: to preserve, defend, maintain and extend civil liberties and human rights in British Columbia and across Canada.

Pride UBC

Pride UBC is an AMS resource group that offers educational and social services dealing with sexuality to UBC students. Pride UBC provide support and information to students who self identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered; assists students who are coming out; supplies a forum for dialogue about sexuality; holds social events, and educates the wider UBC community about the variation in human sexuality. Members of the group are a diverse group of people, and any is welcome regardless of sexuality.
