Exhaustive research throughout the country in
the last few months has made Canada’s Gay Guide the most
validated directory of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, &
transsexual (LGBT) resources Canada has ever seen. It organizes
and indexes 5,000 resources in more than 250 cities. Entries are
subdivided into over 340 categories (just like the Yellow Pages),
including AIDS resources, archives, artists, art galleries, bars,
book services and shops, counselors, distributors, Internet and
Web resources, health services, helplines, mail-order,
manufacturers, organizations, periodicals and publishers, radio

Lesbian Mothers Support Society or LMSS is a
Canadian, non-profit group which strives to provide peer support
for lesbian parents and their children, as well as those lesbians
considering parenthood. Through social functions such as potlucks
and children's activities, lesbian families are able to share
experiences and support each other in a positive environment. We
also attempt to provide legal/medical/psychosocial referrals as
needed.
Some of the issues of interest to LMSS are the
rights of non-biological parents, access to insemination for
lesbians seeking to become parents, custody issues in lesbian
family breakups, and equal treatment of lesbian families in
society. We welcome input from lesbian parents anywhere who are
willing to share their knowledge and experiences with us. LMSS
believes that knowledge is empowerment and so we maintain a small
reference library of books, files of articles and essays, and a
collection of videos. We can also offer limited access to the
World Wide Web.
