P.E.R.S.O.N. -- Public Education Regarding Sexual Orientation Nationally

The P.E.R.S.O.N. Project utilizes proactive strategies to improve the treatment of LGBT persons in K-12 educational systems. Advocates for The P.E.R.S.O.N. Project provide testimony before state and local boards of education, meet with educational policy makers at all levels of government, inform the public about educational equity issues, and furnish various resources for addressing these subjects in the classroom. We call for an end to the censorship of information about our communities in textbooks, course content, resource materials, and library offerings associated with public education.

Pride At Work -- AFL-CIO

National Pride At Work is affiliated as the newest constituency group of the AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor & Congress of Industrial Organizations).

The purpose of Pride At Work is to mobilize mutual support between the organized Labor Movement and the LGBT Community around organizing for social and economic justice.

We see full equality for LGBT Workers in their workplaces and unions.

We work towards creating a Labor Movement that cherishes diversity, encourages openness, and ensures safety & dignity.

We aim to educate the LBGT Community about the benefits of union membership for LGBT working people, and to build support and solidarity for the union movement in the LGBT community.

We intend to do this in the spirit of the union movement's historic motto, "An Injury to One is An Injury to All." We oppose all forms of discrimination on the job and in our unions based on sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, religion or political views.

Project Yes
Project YES is an educational organization whose goal is to ensure the healthy development of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender and all youth. Accomplishing this goal requires that the community recognize and openly address the risks and difficulties affecting these youth. Project YES works within the traditional networks of support for youth: families, communities of faith, schools, youth service agencies, and peer groups. We strengthen these networks and serve as a catalyst to initiate new services. Project YES offers these networks an open forum, often for the first time, to discuss and explore the needs of these youth. We are driven to develop solutions that include all youth and families.
